Hello, I’m Brittney.

I’m an international board-certified lactation consultant with a decade of experience helping families just like yours.

I am a homeschooling mom. I am a wife and a friend. My faith is important to me, and I believe in providing holistic care - mind, body, and soul! If I’m honest, in my personal motherhood journey, I have discovered it can be hard. It is a blessing, but a challenge too. I want to encourage you and be a part of your village. You are not alone!

I became interested in lactation after having my first child. Even though I was a mother/baby nurse, I encountered challenges breastfeeding my first child. I was given incorrect information and I lacked the support I needed. I ultimately did not meet my breastfeeding goal and I was sad it ended so early. This led me to want to become a lactation consultant. I wanted to provide accurate information, moral support, and encouragement to other moms. I wanted to be the help for someone else that I did not receive with my first child.

I have been blessed to be able to breastfeed my four children. There are highs and lows, ups and downs. I have grown as a mother and a person during my experiences. Not only do I have the book knowledge and hands-on skills to assist with breastfeeding challenges, but many of those same challenges I have experienced personally!

Professionally, I am a registered nurse, an educator, and a lactation consultant. My work experience includes mother / baby staff nurse, pre-licensure nursing faculty instructor, and lactation consultant.  I have worked as a lactation consultant in the hospital, both in-patient and out-patient. I have also facilitated a weekly community support and breastfeeding group for 5 years.  I am a Certified Childbirth Educator (CCE), National Safety Council CPR / First Aid Instructor, and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I have earned a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree with an emphasis on nursing education as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and an Associate degree in Nursing (ADN).  I have completed City Training related to ethics and research.  I am a co-author for two published articles in peer-reviewed journals related to the subject of breastfeeding. I have participated at various conferences including a podium presentation and poster presentations. Above all, lactation is my passion.

I love that breastfeeding is both an art and a science.

Brittney lives with her husband, four kids, and their 3 pets (dog, cat, and ferret) in Harford County, Maryland. She enjoys fellowship with her faith community, game nights with friends and family, and outdoor adventures.
